Bleeding and Clotting Disorders
Blood clot in the head
My daughter just had a baby by c-section now becaus e of the meds she was given for the c-section she has been having headaches. They have try taking her blood and injecting it into her back tiwce already and that has not work. She has gone for a MRI and has found out she has a blood clot in her head. They have her on Heparin now. How bad is this. By the way she is still in the hospital.
It is very hard to make any comments about a specific case without being directly involved and knowing the facts of the case. That being said, pregnancy and immediately after pregnancy is a very high risk time for blood clots. While this is clearly very serious, most patients improve with blood thinners and careful monitoring after discharge from the hospital. Any more specific answers will need to come from the doctor who is caring for her and knows the details of her case.
