Melted bottle03/24/2008 09:11PM |
i boiled my Avent pump parts and bottles in a big pot for 10 mins and realised that a small part of the cap and a tiny part of the bottle has MELTED! i have since thrown the 2 defected items away. i have two questions:1. can i use the rest of the parts in the same pot that are not melted? is the melted area contained or would the plastic have dissolved and contaminated the other parts? 2. i only realised that the bottle has melted a few days later and used it to store breast milk. would baby have been affected?
it has been about 2 months since this happened and baby looks fine and healthy to me. is the above still a concern? i have since used glass to store after expressing with my avent pump and bought a steam steriliser. PLEASE reply as i am worried baby would have consumed the plastic.
Thank you for visiting NetWellness. On this site, we try to answer general questions about your baby's health. You appear to have some very, very specific questions about the effects of melted plastic on your baby, which can only be answered properly by a health care provider who is familiar with your child's history, physical exam, and test results.
