Rising PSA After Surgery04/03/2008 |
Last surgery on April 2006. Postive margins PSA started to rise. Seven months later, been through all kinds of test but they can`t find any hot spots. PSA is now .17 should I be worried?
A rising PSA after surgery with positive margins may indicate that there are still cancer cells present. These are not often able to be detected by imaging. Some patients in this situation are candidates for additional radiation to the pelvis. I recommend seeing a radiation oncologist to discuss this option.
