High level of pus cells in urine04/15/2008 |
I am a male, 40 years old. I had a series of urine tests lately. My pus cells level is at 10-12phf. Antibiotics were prescribed for 7 days. I took ciprofloxazin. However, afterward, I had a urinalysis again, but the pus cells level has not gone down. What could be the cause for it? What causes having a high level of pus cells in my urine?
You should follow up with your physician and have a urine culture performed and you should be examined. Depending on your symptoms and the findings of the culture, further cultures, or imaging studies can be performed. The most common cause of pus cells in the urine is an infection which could be in the prostate, bladder, or perhaps kidney.
