New blood test for MG?04/16/2008 |
I was told that I only needed to be tested for MuSk, not Acetylcholine receptor antibodies, because the newer blood test picks up both antibodies. Is this true? Thank you.
Anti MuSK and anti ACh receptor antibodies are different. Most MG patients are positive for one or the other. If a test is checking both, they should say so and also report both values. Hope this helps.
