Urinary and Genital Disorders (Children) |
Five year old has urge to urinate all day04/21/2008 11:10PM |
My five year has the urge to urinate all the time during the day, not when he is sleeping. Urine test showed no bladder infection. What else could be the cause?
There is a condition termed the daytime frequency syndrome in childhood. This is a typical age for the condition. Typically boys are affected more often than girls, and affected children have significant frequency, which may be intermittent. They do not have dysuria, incontinence (day or night), or a urinary tract infection. The condition usually resolves on its own over time without medication.
