Is it possible when you have had you tubes tied and burnt, that you still can become pregnant?
If you have had a prior tubal ligation, you have 2 options to become pregnant. The first is a tubal reversal (a surgical procedure where the tubes are reconnected). This procedure can be performed through an open incision, or more recently, through laparoscopy (telescope through the bellybutton) using the Davinci robot.
The second procedure is in vitro fertilization (IVF). This involves stimulation of the ovaries to make more eggs, removal of those eggs from the ovaries, mixing of eggs and your husband or partner's sperm in the lab to allow fertilization and growth into embryos. Approximately 2 embryos would then be transferred into the uterus.
