Unusual vaginal discharge

04/28/2008

Question:

During intercourse I had an odorless white discharge that looked like tapioca. This has happened about 3 times over the last two years. It`s more embarrassing than anything. I thought it might be because I was ovulating, but that`s reaching I`m sure...

Answer:

It is difficult to know the cause of a vaginal discharge based strictly on appearance. Normal vaginal discharge can take on different appearances due to hormonal changes or due to the presence of male ejaculate following intercourse. Discharge is more likely to be abnormal, or due to an infection, if it is accompanied by itching, burning, irritation, or an unpleasant odor.
