Infertility

Chances of conception

05/07/2008

Question:

37 yo female. ectopic rupture and subsequent loss of right ovary and fallopian tube one year ago. Normal 28 day cycle. Low estradiol level on day 3 of cycle. What steps should I take to oncrease my chances of conception??

Answer:

You should probably speak with your physician regarding having an FSH test (a blood test to for the "responsiveness" of the eggs remaining in the ovaries).  Also, because you have had removal of one of your tubes, a dye test to determine whether your remaining tube is open should be performed.  Finally, if you and your partner have been attempting conception for the past year without success, he should have a semen analysis performed.
