Slight bleeding 1 year after colonoscopy04/27/2008 03:25AM |
I have been suffering from bile salt diarrhea after gallbladder removal 18 months ago. I had a colonoscopy 12 months ago. I was told I had moderate sigmoid diverticulosis. I also had random colonic biopsies taken, and all were normal. My specialist started me on questran Lite. My question is: A few times I have had very slight bleeding always after diarrhea. Should I be worried so soon after a normal colonoscopy? The blood is alway bright red or pink. I know the specialist told me that bile salts can be very irritating to the bowel. I would appreciate your thoughts.
This is likely irritation in the anal area from the diarrhea. Assuming that the colonoscopy was a good prep, it is unlikely to be something serious.
