Vascular Surgery |

The nurses always seem to have difficulty finding a vein and starting a blood draw. They say my veins are very small and they hit what they are assuming is scar tissue. I know in the future I`ll need dialysis and am worried that my small veins will cause great difficulty. How are small veins able to accommodate the 3 x per week dialysis?
The veins you see on the surface are not the ones used for creating a fistula for dialysis. The artery is hooked up to the vein for the dialysis. This results in dilation of the vein or enlargement of it. I hope all goes well for you.
