MY MOTHER IS 75 AND HAD BREAST CANCER. SHE CONTACTED MRSA IN THE INCISION. WHAT OTHER ORGANS CAN MRSA ATTACK? SHE IS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH HER KIDNEYS AN ENLARGED SPLEEN.
Like methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus, methicillin-susceptible S. aureus, also known as MRSA, can infect skin and surgical wounds, as well as multiple other organs. S. aureus can cause abscesses in deep organs, including the kidneys and the spleen. However, such deep abscesses are not common, so you should ask your mother's doctor about her other problems. Sometimes kidney problems can be caused by medications used to treat infections, or by a combinations of factors. Sometimes an enlarged spleen one sign that the body is fighting an infection, or is reacting to a cancer.
