Infants and epilepsy04/30/2008 06:42AM |
hi, I just want to ask that how can we judge in infants that they are suffering from epilepsy excluding eeg or anyother test. Actually sometimes i feel some abnormal movements like jerks(in hands and feet) in my 5 months old niece.I am epileptic that`s why I am very much worried about her. I am unable to understand that these movments are any kind of jerks or it is normal in infants.
There are many things that cause infants to be shaky or have jerks. Not all of them are epilepsy or seizures. The EEG is really the only test that can help make the determination if the jerks are seizures.
