Air bubble in the tongue

05/06/2008 03:27PM

Question:

i have a bump in my tongue not on it but actually inside it and just by looking you wouldn`t know it was there. it is located on the left side toward the front about 2-3 centimeters from the tip it feels like an air bubble in my tongue?

Answer:

It would be difficult to say what this is without doing an examination. Your description is most suggestive of a cyst, a dilated (swollen) blood vessel (such as a varicose vein), or a benign tumor. Ideally you should be evaluated by an oral pathologist.
