Erradication of h. pylori05/07/2008 |
I have just read the question asked about H. pyroli. The truth is that I was diagnosed of this bacteria about 5 yrs ago and all medical actions seem to have failed. Does it mean the bacteria cannot be erradicated? Please how do I erradicate mine?
If one group of antibiotics don't work, there are alternatives. There are resistant strains of h. pylori. After treatment your blood work will always show you have the antibody to h. pylori so that is not a good test to see if it is gone. You will need a breath test (which is done in radiology at most centers) to check for eradication. If still present, a new course of antibiotics will be required. Symptoms alone do not say if you have h. pylori or not. Only the breath test can tell for sure.
