Tiny veins?

05/07/2008 02:42PM

Question:

I am 48 and have always had difficulty when having blood drawn. I usually get passed around the medical office and repeatedly needle stuck, before a vein is located and blood is successfully drawn. also the few times I have had an IV, after a few hours the site becomes very swollen and sore and the swelling lasts for hours after removal, what could be the cause of this? and could the size of my veins become a problem for heart attack or stroke?

Answer:

Hello. Small veins have no relation to strokes or heart attacks. It is just how you happen to be made!
