Weird discharge05/14/2008 |
Approximatley 7 months ago, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I started getting headaches, nauseous, and ALOT of discharge thats smelled alittle off. I had all the signs of prenancy, and my suspisions were confirmed when I went to the doctor for a pregnancy test. Through further action, I decided not to proceed with the pregnancy at just about 2 months. I listened to the doctors about what kind of things would happen to my body after my procedure, so I knew what to expect. However, after about 5 weeks, I finally stopped bleeding, and thought I was back to normal. I ended up having sex with my boyfriend, and it was okay. I didnt go to the doctor before doing so either, where the doctor would have checked to see if I healed properly and if everything was okay (I really should have). Anyhow now... months and months after the fact... My periods are now rgular again -more regular than they ever have been at that. But I still have an off-white discharge that comes out every couple of days. It comes out, almost like pee. It doesn`t smell awful or anything... however it is alittle musky if I had to explain how its smells. It happens alot, and I worry somtimes that I might give off an odor (which I think is mostly my nerves). Recently, it has been coming out randomly and alot when I pee. A few nights ago, I went pee and I kindof pushed alittle hard (kind of like keegles) and when I wiped, I saw more than a few spots of blood. What is going on with me? I know that I should see a doctor... but I have been hearing alot about some common sti`s and the symptoms... and they sound somwhat like what im experienceing. I havent had sex with anyone other than my boyfriend. And I know he is faithful. Although he told me that a few years before we had gotten together, he had contracted I think it was clahmydia, but that it was treated and he had no further signs. Is it possible that after ALL this time... his symptoms came back or somthing, or do I have some sort of infection or what? I am not very comfortable with doctor`s in that area, and I am very afraid of what may be wrong with me. Can you let me know what you think it could be... is it normal? will it go away? I really need to know. Thanks.
All women have some vaginal discharge. This discharge varies through the menstrual cycle as hormonal levels fluctuate. An abnormal discharge is one that is significantly greater in quantity, has an unusual odor, or is accompanied by itching, burning, irregular bleeding, or abdominal pain.
Your discharge needs to be evaluated by a health care provider. This should be done as soon as possible since some infections, like chlamydia, can have serious effects on the reproductive organs. You should not be afraid to tell your health care provider the information you included in your email. He or she needs to know all of your concerns in order to properly evaluate the discharge.
