Nausea post op colon surgery05/14/2008 |
My wife had a perforation of diverticulitis pouch and 12" of her sigmoid colon was removed and temporary colostomy done. This is her 5th day after surgery and has significant nausea that started two days ago. No fever and labs look OK. Is this normal or should we be concerned? Thanks
Not uncommon- may be having difficulty with stomach emptying. An abdominal x-ray can help answer that question. If no problem seen with the stomach, consider one of the medicines she is receiving as the cause of nausea.
