Endometrial cells on a pap
If endometrial cells show up on my pap (and it was right before my period) but I am only 45, not in menopause yet and they were not abnormal, why do I need a biopsy?
It really depends on the rest of your history. Typically, unless the endometrial cells are abnormal, a premenopausal women is expected to have some endometrial cells on a Pap smear. There may be something in your history that makes a biopsy a good way to rule out any uterine, not cervical, pathology.
