Osteoporosis

Why Should Bolivia not be Taken With Low Blood Calcium?

05/27/2008

Question:

The label says not to take Boniva if blood calcium level is low. What is the reason for this?

Answer:

If your serum calcium is low, the bone drugs could make it even lower - to the point of having side effects - by putting some of that calcium into your bone.
