Small recurring blister in mouth?

06/02/2008

Question:

In the past week I`ve noticed that I keep getting a very tiny, clear blister on the inside of my bottom lip. It doesn`t hurt and I can easily pop it. The fluid inside is clear as well. However, after I pop it, it comes back in the same spot, looking just the same. What is this?

Thanks

Answer:

This sounds very much like a small, superficial mucocele. Additional information about this benign but occasionally stubborn condition will be attached. Although this minor problem may resolve on its own, it is possible that you will need to see a dentist or an oral surgeon for treatment.

Good luck!
