Urinalysis test results06/10/2008 |
I met with my physician yesterday for the 1st time. As he was reviewing my test results, he found there was some occult blood in my urine which causes him some concern. What does occult blood present in urine mean?
Occult blood in the urine may have little clinical significance or it can be an indicator of other medical or urologic conditions such as stones, infection, or even tumors. Depending on the amount of the occult blood and if it is persistent, your doctor may suggest that you see a urologist for further evaluation which may include xrays of the urinary tract and visual inspection of the bladder by cystoscopy.
