Burning mouth syndrome?06/19/2008 |
I was looking for answers to my symptoms and it seems that the closest things would be oral yeast or burning mouth syndrome. I didn`t notice anything about sores under the tongue near the throat. I do have rough spots and my mouth feels dry but isn`t really. salty things burn and my mouth and tongue feels swollen. I had these symptoms before and they went away when I changed my diet to mostly raw,no dairy or meat and very little sugars. I was taking a product to help balance my acid/alkaline levels. and probiotics. I felt so good and lost weight as an unexpected benefit :o) I then started allowing more and more splurges and now I feel like I`m heading back where I started! I do have a history of yeast and that is what I have suspected but since I don`t have the typical thrush symptoms with white stuff in my mouth I didn`t know for sure that thats what I was dealing with. I would appreciate any imput you may have for me! Thank you for your time.
What you are describing is much more likely to be burning mouth syndrome than a yeast infection. Additional information about burning mouth syndrome will be attached to this reply. No good treatment for this problem has yet been determined, but many times it is just good to know that you don’t have something that could have serious health consequences.If you need further assistance, you might want to get a consultation with an oral pathologist or an oral surgeon to confirm the diagnosis (and possibly excluding the oral yeast possibility) as well as consider some of the treatments that have been used (with highly variable results) to date.
