Lower molar and ear pain

06/24/2008

Question:

I have had severe pain in my lower jaw which spreads into my ear. As far as I know I don`t have any cavities, but chiped my molar some time ago with a toungue piercing. Could this be related and should I go to the ER?

Answer:

As long as you have no swelling, no fever, no vomiting and no other major health problems, you do not need to go to the ER. You should have your local dentist check your teeth, gums and jaw.
