Pain lower part of stomach after intercourse

Question:

i am experiencing pain in my lower part of abdomen after intercourse, it has been 1yr of my marriage and i always had little pain after intercourse but now it has been 3 days after intercourse, the pain is still there. it hurts when i bend, or i do lot of work, this pain makes me feel tired. can u please help me to find out what it is.

Answer:

Pain during or after intercourse is also called dyspareunia. Dyspareunia can be insertional, meaning that the pain occurs when the penis enters the vagina. This can be due to problems near the outside of the vagina, including infections, inflammation, or trauma.

What you are describing would be called deep dyspareunia, meaning that the pain occurs on thrusting and is usually located deeper within the abdomen or pelvis. Deep dyspareunia can have many causes, including:

In most cases, the painful intercourse goes away when the underlying problem is treated. You will need an examination to see which of these problems may be the cause.
