Swelling in the left lower leg06/25/2008 |
I had surgery to repair an abdominal aneurysm in March. I had a vein removed over ten years ago from my left lower leg. I have been walking daily between 3 and 4 miles. I noticed swelling of my left ankle, lower leg up to about six inches above my ankle and the top of my left foot. I went to the doctor last Thursday and was put on an antibiotic for seven days. I still have swelling but have continued to walk. I did have an ultra sound last week to rule out blood clots. Any idea as to the cause of the swelling.
Hello. I would suggest you get an ultrasound to check the valves in your legs and check that there are no clots in your left iliac vein.
