Walking06/26/2008 |
I have very bad rheumatoid arthritis and I can walk fast but not for a long time. In the mornings I get a hot shower and go for a 30 minute walk to help work out the stiffness. I am a 34 year old female 5 feet and 6 inches tall and weight 215 pounds. About how many calerios would I burn in so many steps? Like 1 per 10 steps.
According to the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and the American Council on Exercise, casual walking (around 3 mph) expends between 5-6 cal/min.
Hope this helps, keep exercising and stay healthy.
