Am I experiencing early onset menopause?

Question:

Hi

I have noticed that my periods are becoming lighter and further apart. I have also noticed that the hair on my legs and bikini line which i previously (over 2 months now), has not been growing at the normal rate, in fact there are complete bald patches. I am very concerned and worried that I may be going through the early menopause.

I went to my G.P although they dismissed my concerns and undermined them, I feel due to their budgets, understandably! However this does not ease my anxiety. I am only 25 years old!

Please can you shed some light on the possibility of this? Or an alternative reason for these changes?

I anxiously anticipate a reply and would really really appreciate it.

Answer:

You may need to see both a gynecologist and a dermatologist, the latter especially if you are developing bald patches on your head as well.
