Hot Flashes and Night Sweats

07/07/2008

Question:

My hot flashes and night sweats are really bad. What worries me is that when I have them and everything is soaked, but then I get very cold like I just can`t get warmed up. Is that part of menopause? Thanks.

Answer:

The symptoms you describe are typical of menopause.  Some women have a severe case.  Do your best to control your environmental temperature.  Try to avoid getting too warm in the first place.  At the first sign of warmth, do something to make yourself cooler.  Keep the air moving in the bedroom.  Check out the new "cool" sheets and pillows that are available now.
