Dime-sized slightly raised spot on 7 yr old07/14/2008 |
My 7-year-old son has a dime-sized slightly raised spot on the back side of his thigh. The spot is hard to see due to the fact that it is just slightly pink relative to his skin color. I noticed it 2 months ago. It has not changed in shape or size since I noticed it. Should I be concerned and schedule an appointment with his pediatrician?
Many benign (not dangerous) growths can occur in children. Less frequently more worrisome growths may be seen. I would recommend consulting your pediatrician for evaluation to determine which group this spot falls into.
