Milk tooth

07/17/2008 02:12PM

Question:

I am 31 years old and i have one milk tooth next to the front one. I have seen another tooth on an x-ray many years ago. I have been having a few problems with the tooth next to it and in the roof of my mouth. I thought it might be my adult tooth coming through so I went to the dentist and he did an x-ray and said it was a nerve dying and we should keep our eye on it. Now, however i have got a lump at the top of my gum that feels sensitive and suspiciously like a tooth! Where do I go from here?

Answer:

A lump on your gum sounds like an abscess, especially if the dentist said the nerve was dying.  I would go back to your dentist.  The tooth may need a root canal.
