HPV Question

07/22/2008

Question:

I was diagnoses with hpv in March. After the biopsy of my cells I was told that i had A typical cells, stge 1. However, since my biopsy I have been spotting almost everyday. This has lasted for four months. In addition to this I have lost about ten pounds for no reason and stay tired with no energy. I`m worried that something else may be wrong. Any suggestions?

Answer:

I am not sure what procedure you had or what the diagnosis was as the terminology you are using is not standard. I would make an appointment with your gynecologist to determine why you are having daily spotting. There are many reasons for spotting, including bleeding due to contraceptive pills, infection and lesions on the cervix. Ask your doctor for the results of your biopsy and if any further treatment is needed.
