Diarrhea after gallbladder removal?

07/23/2008

Question:

I had my gallbladder removed in 1986. No problems until the past year (2007-present). Have had lactose intolerance since 1975. Not sure if it`s either or both getting worse or something else? I have frequent bouts of diarrhea (lasting 3-5 days) worse after a meal, up to 5-8 times/day. Seems to come and go without explanation. Is this related to my gallbladder being removed and is there any treatment other than Imodium?
