How Long Can Paxil Stay Effective?07/24/2008 |
I have been on 20mg of Paxil for 15 years for treatment of panic attacks. How long can Paxil stay effective in my body?
Although there are no studies involving 15 years of treatment with paxil in panic disorder, there is no evidence that it loses its efficacy over time. The closest evidence for long-term efficacy with antidepressants exists in the area of depression where life course therapy is indicated in certain cases.
