Unexplained abdominal pain
I am a family physician and have had pain in the lower left abdomen--- left iliac fossa,no change in bowel habit,no occult blood, the pain can be quite severe at times, like a stitch and quite tender to a point(specific),No weight loss,Ct scan and colonoscopy NAD.Upper GI endoscopy shows a hiatus hernia with grade 2 reflux. The only other thing is that I have a lot of flatulence.I am overweight and have a few lipomata in the abdominal wall and teh point of tenderness is close to where one of them is.I am at my wits end as to what to do.The only other problem is a lot of bloating and Flatulence
Could be consistent with smooth muscle spasm in the sigmoid colon; try something like hyoscamine or a similar drug to see if it helps.
