Severe chronic eye pain08/15/2008 |
I`ve been suffering with eye pain for about 5 years and my last visit with an opthalmologist said he "didn`t know what`s wrong" but he did say the eyeballs appear normal. So I still don`t know what`s causing the pain. A brain scan earlier this year said there is evidence of chronic small vessel ischemic disease - whatever that means. It also said I have inflammatory mucosal thickening within the right ethmoid, left sphenoid, and right maxillary sinuses. Is either or both of these conditions the cause of the eye pain? I`ve had sinus surgery twice, but I received no relief from the pain and I resort to 10/325 mg of percocets for releif. No doctor has ever discussed these results of the brain scan. Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. God bless you.
Based on your description, it would appear that inflammation in your sinuses is causing the eye pain. Please revisit the doctor that performed the brain scan and sinus surgery to discuss the results and expected outcomes. The doctor that has evaluated you over the previous 5 years will be most helpful in answering your questions and developing a plan to address your concerns.
Best of luck to you.
