Back tongue blood, veins,blisters,sore throat08/15/2008 |
I have small blood blisters and bright red veins at the back of my tongue on both sides. It doesn`t hurt. I noticed today and developed sore throat also today. Thought I had hair on the back of tongue. I couldn`t get so I went to the mirror and saw it was this. I have no idea how long it`s been there. Age 38 and have dentures.
It sounds like you have just recently discovered the very prominent blood vessels that are quite normal for the back sides of the tongue. Some people also have tonsil tissue in this area (lingual tonsil) that can be quite notable, but usually will look the same on both sides of the tongue.If you remain concerned, it is never a bad idea to check with your dentist.
