Versed sedative bad reactions08/11/2008 03:35PM |
A question about the anesthetic Versed, my father in law just had a quadruple bypass on Friday he awoke Saturday morning around 3am in horrid pain but responsive blood pressure dropping very low unable to breathe on his own, so they decided to put him back under well they used versed this time to put him back under and ever since they have brought him out of sedation 3 times and each time now since given versed he has woke up unresponsive eyes open no blinking with a blank stare I hate to put it this way but almost like he is mentally retarded and the doctors just keep saying this is not normal and have really no answers. Is this a side effect of that drug? Has it been seen and the person comes back out of the coma like state or if it in cases like this shown to have eventually come out OK? Or have had some kind of permanent damage.
Thank you for visiting NetWellness. On this site, NetWellness experts try to answer general questions about health. Only a health professional performing a thorough clinical exam is able to evaluate your symptoms. However, NetWellness has an article on Versed that may provide you with some information. Also you may want to look for general information that is available through our search feature. Feel free to write back to the Anesthesia health topic if you still have questions or need an explanation.
