Could Amoxicillan Cause Vaginal Discomfort?08/28/2008 |
I recently was placed on high dosages of Amoxicillan after undergoing a root canal. I`ve developed a peculiar and uncomfortable sensitiviy in my vaginal area. Is this possibly a side effect of the antibiotic? this was not my first root canal but one of the most painful. It involved the canaine tooth and I had quite a bit of calcification. The pain is gone but the secondary condition (the vaginal discomfort) still exists.
If the pain/discomfort has not subsided yet, you should be examined by your primary care physician or gynecologist. It is possible that the antibiotics have killed off the “good bacteria” that are normally present in the vagina and that you have developed a secondary infection, such as a yeast infection.
