Question:

My 4 year old has started blinking his eyes excessively here lately, he already wears glasses, should I be concerned that his glasses need changing or does he have dry eyes? He just had an eye exam in May. Not sure if I need to see the pedatric opthomologist or his peditrician? Please help

Thank you very much for the question.  Certainly, excessive blinking can be caused by a number of conditions.  However, probably the most common would involve a dry eyes, allergies, or a foreign body.  I would probably start by visiting your child’s pediatrician.  He/She could obtain a thorough history along with a good eye exam and likely identify the problem.  Thank you again for the question.
