Mucus type spotting after menopause09/16/2008 |
For a year now I have had a small amount of a yellow-brown sticky vaginal discharge almost every day; it shows up late in the day/early evening. I`m four years past menopause, have mild prolapse, and a recent ultrasound that indicates a uterine fibroid. My doctor said the spotting may be related to the fibroid. Should I do some type of additional follow up? Spotting like this doesn`t seem normal, is it?
Other conditions such as vaginitis and atrophic vaginitis can also produce a sticky discharge. Presumably the ultrasound reported a normal endometrial thickness so that you do not need to be concerned about endometrial cancer or polyp.
