Residual encephalomalacia08/26/2008 |
After the soft brain tissue "began" what damage can seizures cause? Can they soften the tissue more? How much damage can be caused on a "simple" seizure & if the brain tissue continues to soften what will happen? Alzhiemers first or will the botton drop out rather quickly? Also, would a simple CT scan show any more damage to the soft tissue?
Encephalomalacia is a term that means scar tissue in the brain. It results from some injury that damages the brain such as a stroke or head injury. The scar tissue may later cause seizures. Seizures do not cause or worsen encephalomalacia.
