Is it Safe to Mix Tylenol Arthritis and Mediforin?08/28/2008 |
Can I take Tylenol Arthritis pain medication with high blood pressure medication? I am currently taking Mediforin medication for high blood pressure.
Tylenol Arthritis Pain Medication is an over-the-counter medicine that contains 650 mg of acetaminophen in a formulation that releases some of the medicine immediately and some over a period of time. The manufacturer claims the product can relieve arthritis pain for up to eight hours. We were unable to find any evidence that acetaminophen interacts with any currently available blood pressure medicines. Acetaminophen should not worsen blood pressure by itself, either.
We are not familiar with a medicine called mediforin, nor were we able to find this medicine in a search of US or international drug names. You may have meant metformin, a drug that mainly is used to treat diabetes, not high blood pressure. We did not find any evidence that acetaminophen interacts with metformin, and acetaminophen is safe for people with diabetes.
When you’re taking prescription medicines, it is always best to discuss the use of OTC medicines with your doctor or a pharmacist who knows you before taking them.
