Root canal / Gold crown

08/29/2008

Question:

I had a root canal that required drilling through my gold crown on tooth 15. What is the best way to approach this, repair the gold crown (it is less then a year old) or replace the crown with a new one??

Answer:

It is common practice to place a filling in the access hole of the crown when it is such a new crown.
