Gap between gum and tooth09/03/2008 |
on the upper right side, there is a gap betweem one tooth and the gum. A needle can go up to 1/2 cm in it. food is getting collected there and i always bruch after eating.is there any technique by which i can seal the gap so that the space between teh gum and the tooth is sealed? please advise.
I believe that you are describing exposed root surface and some root erosion/abrasion. There are two techniques to close this exposure. One is through soft tissue graft procedure. It is a surgical technique and it will give a better and longterm result. The second one is through placing a filling material on the gap. It may be a good alternative depending on the type of the tooth, the size of the defect, etc.
