Is it Safe to Mix Robaxacet and Muscle Relaxers?

10/07/2008 11:16AM

Question:

Can I take a muscle relaxer if I took a Robaxacet about 45 minutes before?

Answer:

No, you may not take a muscle relaxer drug with Robaxacet. Robaxacet contains methocarbamol and acetaminophen. The methocarbamol is a drug used for muscle spasms. You should not take a second muscle relaxant drug with the methocarbamol. Be careful in using other drugs containing acetaminophen, especially over-the-counter products such as Tylenol. Taking two products containing acetaminophen can lead to liver injury if the total dose of acetaminophen is too high.

Please talk to your doctor if the Robaxacet is not providing the desired relief.
