Treatment Options for Heel Spurs09/15/2008 |
I have heel spurs (plantar fasclitics) have had for several years now. I have taken Celebrex from time to time and had 4 Cortizone shots in one of my heels. I do get some relief but the pain normally returns. Are there other options?
The other options for plantar fasciitis include stretching exercises and orthotic or shoe inserts. In some rare cases where this type of therapy is not successful, surgery may be considered, however this is a last resort and all other therapies should be considered before.
