Question:

i find your answers on achillies heel very helpful but my question is ,at 71 yrs old if i have the surgery for it.how likely will i come out better than when i went in? At this time i cannot even walk.

Answer:

No one can predict the precise outcome of a surgical procedure without knowing about the individual involved. So much of the results of surgery depend on the general medical condition of each patient and that is best evaluated by the surgeon suggesting the procedure. It is always important for patients to come prepared with questions about expectations after the procedure to ensure the proper level of informed consent. I encourage to write your questions down to make sure all of them are answered to your satisfaction.
