Possible Thyroid Problem09/25/2008 |
I recently saw my doctor for treatment for Restless Leg Syndrome. My sleep patterns were irregular and fatigue was driving me crazy. During the lab work it was found that my ferritin level was 521 and my TSH level was 13.3. My T3 and T4 (5.5) were "normal." Is it possible that an elevated TSH level is causing the increase in iron or visa versa. I`m being referred to a thyroid specialist. Any other suggestions to look for. Hemochromatosis?
I do not think this is due to a thyroid problem. A full workup for other causes of increased ferritin will be done by specialist.
