Post Hysterectomy and Bladder Punctures10/09/2008 |
How do I fix two holes in bladder after hysterectomy 8 weeks ago? Losing large amounts of urine from vagina.
I guess you are the GYN provider. My advise is to wait at least three months and then reassess the situation. If the fistula is small it may close by itself using indwelling catheter. Provided the pelvis has not been irradiated. Then one can look again and plan either formal closure and omental inlay or vaginal approach with careful identification of the fistula and proper closure. If you have a young lady with healthy tissue you may succeed this way. Good luck.
